The Root of Division

If the foundation – faith in Christ – is overthrown by wicked teachers, no peace can remain in the church, either in doctrine or in life; rather, there will be various opinions and dissensions from time to time, both in doctrine and life, and one person will bite and devour another, judging and condemning until they are destroyed. This is proved not only by Scripture but by the example of all times. One sect gives rise to another, and one condemns another. When the unity of the Spirit is broken, it is impossible for there to be any agreement either in doctrine or in life; instead, new errors will srping up every day, endlessly.
